Principals

MedCon Benefit Systems Group is a firm established to provide professional insurance advisory services to businesses of all sizes and industry types. The Principals of MedCon have each been serving the employee benefit industry for more than 30 years.

Bill Deviney

Bill Deviney has worked in insurance marketing and administration for 36 years. Earning his BBA from Baylor University in 1980, he entered the Management Training Program at American Amicable Insurance Company. Ultimately, he concentrated upon life and health underwriting and risk selection. He went on to receive his FLMI designation (Fellow in Life Office Management Institute) in record time and quickly became a trusted underwriter at his company.

In 1982 Mr. Deviney was offered and accepted the position of Assistance Vice President of Administration for another Texas-based life insurance company.

After developing an interest in marketing, he joined Group Administrators, Inc. in 1985 to not only apply his experience as an underwriter, but to explore marketing opportunities as well. His analytical style served him well as he brought many new clients to the company.

Having helped Group Administrators establish itself as a major Third Party Administrator in the southwest, Mr. Deviney became one of the principal stockholders in the firm. During his tenure at GA, he garnered respect as an insurance expert from both clients and peers.

After Group Administrators, Inc. became part of a public company in 1994, Mr. Deviney helped found and is a Principal in MedCon Benefit Systems Group. The focus of MedCon Benefit Systems Group is to bring a wide range of employee benefit expertise to the client base. Mr. Deviney’s educational and professional experience as an underwriter and insurance administration is instrumental in achieving that goal.

Sharon Neely McReynolds

Mrs. McReynolds has 35 years experience in the field of employee benefits. A graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, she moved to Dallas, Texas and joined Union Mutual Insurance company in 1981 as a Group Client Service Representative. She managed over 700 clients and gained the respect of her peers as an expert in Long Term Disability contracts.

In 1984 Mrs. McReynolds accepted a position as Marketing Group Manager at Corroon and Black, a national insurance organization with a major group office in Dallas. During her tenure with this firm she gained valuable experience in all group benefit lines including medical, dental, life, short-term disability and other insurance products. Having the responsibility for a large and varied clientele group, she was exposed to and learned from the fact that all her customers had unique needs that had to be addressed individually.

Mrs. McReynolds joined Group Administrators, Inc. in 1990 as the Account Representative responsible for the entire client base. In this position for 6 years, she gained further expertise in the application of self-funded concepts to various Employee Benefit plans. In the process she developed an understanding of how Excess Loss Coverage, the Plan Sponsor, the Claim Administrator and various ancillary services are best used to build the most efficient benefit delivery system possible.

This considerable experience and conceptual understanding of employee benefit processes make Mrs. McReynolds a valuable component of MedCon Benefit Systems Group.
